FAITH IS OUR VICTORY

I John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith.”

We must understand here that when the Bible mentions “the world”, it is referring to a foreign system of thought, behavior and consequences. It is a way of living in the earth today.

In Romans 12:2 the Bible commands us not to be conformed to this worldly system, to this fashion or this age, but rather to be transformed. God is literally saying there is another system of thought, behavior and blessings that you can operated in, and it comes by renewing your mind to His Word.

If we are going to escape and overcome the conformity that the pressure of this worlds system is constantly putting on us, we are going to have to learn to live our life by faith in Jesus Christ and what He says in His Word. This is Gods system of living in the earth today.

Now the worlds system of operating has consequences. These consequences are clearly seen. In the earth we have disease, sickness, poverty, lack, emotional turmoil, mental illnesses all forms of selfishness, debauchery, and the like. All of these fruits, if you will, are the result of worldly ways of thinking, acting, and believing.

We don’t deny that there are things like viruses and deadly forces at work in the earth today. But what I John 5:4 declares, is that faith is our answer to overcoming these things. Faith is the victory that not only overcomes the way the worlds system operates, but it will also overcomes the fruit that the worlds system produces.

Rev. John G. Lake was a man who ministered in a place where a deadly plague was killing thousands of people. He lived in the midst of it, and was ministering the healing power of God. Many people who should have died, lived.

Now the scientific community of the day was confused as to why Rev John G. Lake wasn’t dying from the plague..

So a group of them went and studied Rev. Lake. The scientists placed a portion of the plagued filled foam from a dead mans mouth on Rev. Lake’s hand. Then put them both under a microscope to see what would happen. What they saw was amazing. When the virus touched Lakes body the virus died, instead of infecting the area it touched.

What was empowering Rev. Lake. What was the key that enabled him to overcome that disease? That’s right; it was FAITH!

I John 5:4 tells us that faith is the victory that overcomes the sickness and disease that is trying to kill you. That is trying to imprison you. That is trying to take away the liberty and freedom that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for you to experience.

In Hebrews Chapter 11 we begin reading how to live by faith. During the first few verses we read where our elders actually obtained good reports by faith.

In fact the very first thing that was obtained by faith was the universe that you and I are living in right now. God is a God of faith. He looked into nothing and said “LIGHT BE”, and LIGHT WAS.

He knows how to operate in faith. Now God is trying to help you and I operate in that same faith as well.

In Ephesians 5:1 we read: “And be ye followers of God as dear children”. . . . The word “follower” here means “to imitate, or to copy.”

God knows how this thing works. He is the one who created this system of faith. In fact there is nothing good in this earth that will manifest without faith. Everything that is good in this earth will come to you and I, by operating in and through Gods system of faith.

So faith is the thing that obtains good reports.

Sickness is not a good report for Your body.

Health and Healing, Is a good report for your body.

Living by faith, will obtain the good report of health and healing for your body.

Poverty and lack is not a good report for your family.

Prosperity and sucess is a good report for your family

Living by faith will obtain the good report of your needs being met for your family!

2 Corinthians 5:7 commands us to walk by faith. “(...regulate our lives and condut ourselves hy our conviction or belief....with trust and holy fervor, thus we walk) not by sight or appearance.

The worlds system is based on conducting your behavior on believing what you see based on something other than what Gods Word says. What you hear, what you feel, what you experience through your five physical senses is being interpreted through something other than Gods Word.

Romans 10:17 on the other hand tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

When you and I choose to believe, to have faith in what the Word says about our situation, and allow that Word and our faith in that Word to influence the way we think, and act, that is when we begin to overcome.

That is when faith begins obtaining the good report of healing, prosperity and sucess. That is when Faith is our victory!

JESUS THE ANSWER FOR OUR HEARTS!

Luke 4:18,19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted.

What does that mean? This must be important, for it is in the first declaration that Jesus made concerning the purpose of His ministry!

To answer this we must answer the question of what does brokenhearted mean?

Broken; A Greek word meaning; To crush completely, to shatter, to break in pieces, to bruise

Heart; A Greek word meaning; Heart, Thoughts, feelings, (mind) the middle.

Heart is not referring to our spirit.

Jesus came to heal our crushed, shattered, broken, and bruised heart .

Why was it so important for Jesus to heal our heart?

Because out of the heart flows the springs of life.

Proverbs 4:23 (Amplified ) “ Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life,”

John 7:38 “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Belly: A Greek word meaning; A cavity, the matrix or the heart. Cavity means hollow space. Matrix means surrounding substance, environment, or mold.

Belly here does not mean your spirit, But it can be translated as a hollow mold or it can be describe as something that holds something or is a container of a substance!

Our heart is literally the container of our spirit! Our spirit is one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17) and is the living water or springs of life that the scripture is referring too!

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The word of God separates the soul from the spirit.

Soul; is your mind will and emotions.

Heart; (mind or the middle) This is where your thoughts feelings and intentions are.

Our heart is where you and I believe (Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth ….”) and it is at the core or middle of our soul.

Your spirit is different than your heart. If they were one and the same Hebrews 4:12 would have said “….thoughts and intents of the spirit.”

I Peter 3:4 “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

Hidden man? What is the hidden man. Is it the heart? No!

The hidden man is not corruptible, he is a meek and quiet spirit, and in the sight of God a great price!

The hidden man is the spirit, which is residing in the heart!

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created He them.”

Jesus said in John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

If God is a Spirit, and He made us in His image, and in His likeness than we are a spirit!

Our spirit is made in the image and likeness of God.

God is not corruptible. He is eternal!

You, that is your spirit, is not corruptible and you are eternal!

Question from group: If our Spirit cannot be corrupted, why are so many going to HELL?

Is their Spirit alive when they go?

Answer: Our Spirit is eternal it will live forever whether in Heaven or in Hell.

With or without God, we will live forever

Not even hell can destroy our spirit.

That’s another reason why hell is so devastating, because we will be forever separated from Love, from His Life, from our family the body of Christ, from God our Father!

So our spirit made in the image and likeness of God cannot be corrupted. It is eternal, but our heart can be corrupted, defiled, and deceived.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it.”

The problem lies within our hearts, not our spirit. Our heart can be deceived, defiled, and become wicked.

Ephesians 4:18 “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart."

This is why Jesus came to heal our hearts.. If our heart is broken, it separates us from the life of God. When our hearts are healed and whole then our spirit, which is one with Gods Spirit, begins manifesting the Glory of God and His springs of life!

The Good news is our heart can be cleansed!

Jeremiah 4:14 “O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved, How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?”

We need to allow the Word of God to separate our heart from our spirit, so that Gods Word can begin cleansing and healing our hearts

That’s what His word does, it cleanses and heals.

Ephesians 5:26 “That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”

Psalms 107:20 “He sent his word, and healed them delivered them from their destructions.”

That’s why Jesus saves, because Jesus is the answer for our hearts, for He is the Word made flesh.

John 1:12,14 “But as many as received him , to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Whats Happening In Your Heart Part 2
Isaiah 53:3-5 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus felt Despised, Rejected, Grief, Sorrows and Devalued.

Where did this happen?

IN HIS HEART!

Rejection is the feeling of being unwanted, excluded, worthless, or not belonging to a group or to anyone

It’s like the feeling of a fist in your chest (pressure)

Rejections is the #1 cause of wounding in a persons heart

You are not responsible for the wounding

You are responsible for your reaction to the wounding

Thoughts produce feelings.
Thoughts + Feelings = Behavior

Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Transgressions produce wounds in our heart.
Iniquities produce bruising.

Heart Boundaries and Needs
Feel Unconditional Love
Feel Safe and Secure
Feel Valuable, and validated.
Feel a sense of destiny or purpose.

When one of the four basic Heart needs is not met or felt a wound takes place.

Wounds take place through transgressions; The transgression has to filter through your thoughts in order to form a wound.

If Gods Word is has not formed your thoughts you will not be protected from a transgression, thus you will receive a wound in your heart.

Genesis 16:12 “And he( Ishmael) will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”

Ishmael was a Wild man and he fought against everyman, and every man was against him.

Why?

Hagar was pregnant with Abrams child. Sarai persecuted and rejected Hagar.

Hagar felt so rejected that she fled into the wilderness. Ishmael felt that rejection while still in his mother’s womb.

When Hagar returned and gave birth to Ishmael. Ishmael lived in Abrahams house and received Abrahams blessing.

But when Isaac was born, everything changed for Ishmael.
Instead of receiving healing, and accepting of Gods Word and His promise in Isaac, Ishmael acted out of his rejection and wound by mocking and persecuting Isaac. (Gen 21:9)

As a result he and Hagar were told to leave. Abraham had to send them away.

This added more wounding to his heart. Ishmael entered into a Cycle of Pain in which he lived out the rest of his life, and passed that on to his children and their children.

Psalm 107:20 “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Gods Word will heal the wounds of our heart.

If Ishmael would have received Gods Word, his heart would have been healed. He and Hagar could have stayed with Abraham.

Instead he received other interpretive thoughts as a result of his wounding. These thoughts created destructive barriers, and produced wrong behavior.

That’s what strongholds do in a person’s heart. They imprison us and hinder Gods life giving Spirit to be at work in our lives.

Faith, believing Gods Word, opens a door in our hearts, for the life giving Spirit of God to heal and to bless us.

Whats Happening In Your Heart?

Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

A statement was made with a question

We are suppose to trust and follow our hearts
Question: What if your mind tells you something different?

1. Your heart is the most inward part of your soul
2. Your heart contains your thoughts and intents. (Hebrews 4:12)
3. If your mind (soul) is renewed by the Word of God then your heart which receives Gods Word, will be in agreement with, your spirit, which is created in the likeness of God our Father.
4. If our heart and soul are not healed and renewed- go to Gods Word for direction even if you have doubts in your mind. We must have peace or agreement in our heart.

Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Our body contains our soul
Our soul contains our spirit
At the center of our soul is our heart which is the hiding place of our spirit. (1Peter 3:4)
The real you is your spirit, which comes directly from God your Father.

Romans 7:17-20 “Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."

Sin dwells in our body
Sin is a thing
Sin is a noun, and a verb
Sin is an infection, you must dominate.

We cannot find answers in our body, for that is where sin resides. We must find answers from God and His Word, which must reside in our heart!

Your heart was created to contain your spirit and receive Gods Word! It is in our heart that Gods word can be received and believed.

Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Your heart was created to believe thoughts. That’s its purpose!

Intents: ( Greek word ennoia)
1) the act of thinking, consideration, meditation
2) a thought, notion, conception
3) mind, understanding, will, manner of feeling, and thinking

Thoughts (Greek enthymēsis)
1) A thinking, consideration
2) Thoughts

Jesus said, in Matthew 6:31 “Therefore take no thought, saying…”

Thoughts are simply unspoken words.

Our heart will contain Gods Word, His thoughts, or, some else’s?
The battle is in our hearts.

What happens in your heart determines what you think, feel, believe and do.

What is Faith? What is doubt? To answer these two questions we can start by answering another quetion.

What is Sin?
Romans 7:11 "For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me."

Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

James 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

Romans 14:23 "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

Sin is not just a behavior
Sin is a thing, personality; and a verb, an action.
Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

What is faith?
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Faith believes Gods Word

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

By Grace were saved through faith. Grace saved you not your good works.
Salvation is received through your faith, salvation is not earned through faith.

Galatians 2:16 … even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works..”

First of all faith is simply believing God and His Word.
Faith is not works or behavior. Faith is believing Gods Word!

James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Secondly Faith will have works or corresponding behavior that expresses it.
The works are not faith, they are the result of faith.
So faith is believing and doing Gods Word!

So what is sin?
Romans 14:23 "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

Not believing God and His Word is sin
Sin is not believing God and His word, and acting on that belief.

Where do we believe?

Genesis 2:7
Spirit contacts soul to work.
Soul contacts the body to work
Body contacts natural world.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Belly= containing vessel, heart, middle.
Out of his heart shall flow living waters, or life.

John 4:14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

Notice He said, shall be in us a well of water.
Water symbolizes spirit.

What does the well represent? The belly, or the heart!
The heart of a man contains the spirit of a man.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

We believe in our heart.
When we believe in our heart, our spirit created in the image of God, flows out!

Faith believes God & His word
Doubt = believing something other than Gods word

How can doubt be formed in a persons heart?

Isaiah 53:3 prophesy of Jesus

The first place Jesus suffered was in his heart
Despised
Rejected
Sorrows; Pain
Grief’s Infirmities, sickness
He experienced no validation

Hebrew words have multi meanings
Hebrew Alaphet: each letter has a color and a sound that signifies that letter
Ex: the letter a means red and has a musical note to identify it as well

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions

Transgression = trespass; crossing of a boundary
The crossing of a boundary in our soul/heart or body

Ex: have you ever seen a NO TRESSPASSING sign? It means do not cross a boundary.
God created us with boundaries or needs.

Four Physical Boundaries or Needs
Air
Water
Food
Shelter

Four Heart or Soul Boundaries, or Needs
Feel Unconditional Love
Feel Safe and Secure
Feel Valuable, and validated.
Feel a sense of destiny or purpose.

John 4: 24 God is Love
We were created to give love to God and receive love from God
We are created to give love to others and receive love from others
Love Never Takes

There are 5 ways we give and receive love to and from God
And 5 ways we give and receive Love to and from others

5 ways God created communicates love to you: Five love languages.
Talk
Touch
Acts of Service
Gift Giving
Quality time together.

God communicates with us everyday in all 5 ways

Ex: We picture God high above us looking down at us waiting for us to screw up and we have to go to Jesus to get to God because Jesus will argue our case to Him so we don’t get into trouble.

The Bible gives us a completely different picture of Who God is. He is LOVE!

We have to train our hearts to hear Gods voice.
……………..close your eyes… quite your mind ….says softly, “Father, I love you.”………what did you hear?

God is always speaking to you through those 5 love languages

Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
He was wounded for our trespasses’.

A trespass can take place in our lives when one or more of our heart needs are not met through one or more of these love languages.

How easy it is for a trespass to happen in a relationship because we don’t know how to communicate or receive love.

There is Silent torment when two people try to communicate with different love languages and aren’t even aware of what’s happening. Trespass = wounded hearts

Ex: subject A: love language is talk
Subject B: love language is acts of service

If A talks to B but B needs something done for them. B gets angry with A because a love language is not being met.

So, a wound takes place.
We are not responsible for wounding that happens to us.

We are however responsible for our reactions to that wounding.

Wounds are the result of transgression.
Transgressions are trespasses.
Trespasses’ are simply crossing the boundaries that God has set up for us.

When wounding takes place it can hinder our faith, and literally create wrong beliefs.

If Gods Word is not there to heal that wound, doubt, unbelief will the be the result. A wrong belief in something other than Gods word will be the result.

Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

You and I were created to give and receive love

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Genesis 1:26-27 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion …. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

God is a Spirit, He created you and I in His image, and in His likeness. That means we are a spirit just like Him. We are His children. We came from Him. Whatever He is that’s who we are. We are His family. He values us, and loves us unconditionally.

Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Soul= Mind, will, emotions, thoughts, feelings.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God can help us identify who we are. Only the Word of God can reveal the difference between who we are (the spirit), our soul, our body, and our heart?

Spirit: This is who we really are! Breath, sprit, the rational soul.

Soul: Psuche: The soul or breath of life The immaterial invisible part of man, the seat of personality, the seat of the sentiment element in man, that by which he perceives, reflects, feels, desires, the seat of will, purpose, and appetite. Mind, will, emotions, feelings, thoughts and intentions.

Joints and Marrow: Body

Heart: Kardia Stands for man’s entire mental and moral activity The heart is used figuratively for the hidden springs of personal life. It is the thoughts or feelings, mind, the middle. Fleshly tables of the heart (the eyes of our understanding). It is the mind, will, emotions, thoughts, feelings, reasons, and intentions.

Believe with your heart the middle part or core of our soul. The hiding place of our spirit.

There is a difference between our conscience thought and sub consciousness thoughts.

Heart is very sensitive
Like reception on your phone or TV
Heart is very powerful yet very fragile

Proverbs 4:20-23 (Amplified) “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”

My son attend to my Words, Incline your ears unto my sayings.
We must give God and His Word our full attention
When we do this, it enables us to hear what He’s saying

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
The spoken Word of God!
That’s when Faith comes. When we hear what He is saying to us personally.
Your perception will change in your heart. That’s where faith is formed

Adam and Eve should have guarded and protected their heart!

Before the fall man used 100% of their brain
They communicated with animals
We were created to take dominion
We are intricately created!

Why did the curse come onto the snake

Genesis 3:14 “Because thou hast done this…”
What did the serpent do?
He allowed Satan access into his soul, his mind will, thoughts and reasoning’s.
Satan was hiding in the animal’s soul.

So God communicates love
You and I are love, because we were created in His image and likeness.
You and I were created to love God, and receive love from Him.
You and I were created to love others, and receive love from others.

5 ways God created communicates love to you: Five love languages.
Talk
Touch
Acts of Service
Gift Giving
Quality time together.

These love languages are the ways God designed to meet those soul needs.

God created us as a family
And a family was designed by God to meet and assit in communicating these love needs to each other.
Adam and Eve ware created to fill the love needs for each other.

Notice He said BY GRACE YOU ARE SAVED!

To be redeemed means to be taken out of one place and put into another.
You and I have been purchased out and away from one place and put into another.

Colossians 1: 12-14
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Our sins are forgiven. We have taken out of the power darkness, and placed into the Kingdom of Heaven. Thats where we are right now.
He has delivered us its done already. Our sins are forgiven. We are saved!

We are no longer sinners saved by grace. Grace Saved us!

When Adam and Eve lived in the Garden they were sin free.

God created us free will agents with the power to choose.

God gave Adam boundaries Adam was created to know God!
God has His own boundaries
Example
He is love. Therefore He loves. God will never cross that boundary of not loving
He is a God of His Word. He will never say one thing, and do another!

God is good! He will never be evil or tempt anyone with evil.

God gave Adam a choice. To know Him, or to know right and wrong

God never wanted us to know about evil. His will was for us to KHOW Him, pure goodness.

In any situation you don’t need to know the right and wrong about the situation.
Ex: To spit at people is wrong.
But, when God tells you to do it, its right.
Jesus spit on a man’s eyes, and he was healed.

At a healing school service, a woman came forward for prayer. She was partially blind in her eyes. The Lord impressed upon me to spit on her eyes. So I did. She was healed!

It not about actions, or behavior, it’s about the heart.
It’s not a matter of right and wrong
It’s a matter of knowing God
Sometimes you’re in a situation and your thinking, "What should I do?" Seek God in it, not what you think might be right and wrong.

Adam came from God

God placed Him in a body
Where did Adams body come from? The Earth

God doesn’t create your body, He shapes and forms our body. Our bodies come from our parents, much like Adams body came from the ground. Eves body came from Adam, and God formed it and shaped it.

God doesn’t create you wrong, or with disabilities.
Our body comes from our Parents, that’s why curses, sicknesses, diseases and disabilities can be generational

Our outward man is perishing
Our inward man is being renewed day by day!

That which is born of Spirit is Spirit
That which is born of Flesh is Flesh

Your soul is your mind, will, emotions, thoughts and feelings.

I Peter 3:4 “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

The Hidden man of the heart (the key)
That which is not corruptible
A meek and quiet SPIRIT!
The hidden man of the heart is a spirit that is not corruptible.
The hidden man here is not the heart. It is the spirit!
The hidden man, His spirit is placed in the heart

This is who we really are. We are that spirit residing in our heart. That spirit is in the sight of God a great price. Valuable. You and I are valuable in the sight of God!

We hear people say…. We didn’t deserve to be saved….. That statement takes away the importance of what Jesus did!

God highly valued you… He thought you were important! He saw that you were incorruptible. Meaning you will live forever like Him. Sin separated you from Him; He didn’t want you to live forever alienated from Him.

God loved the world, He valued you and I so much, that’s why He sent Jesus!

Love your neighbor means to value them. We shouldn’t devalue them.

God is a Spirit, He created you and I. We are spirit, created in His image and likeness. We are His children. He values us, and loves us unconditionally

A quick Lesson of grace part 2

We need to have a paradigm shift in our perception

God values you and I. We are to value others the way God values us.
When we see who we are, it helps us to see who others are.

Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

*We are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, soul, and mind.
*We are to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Loving someone is valuing them. It allows them to feel value as well.
When we love unconditionally, we are literally giving value to that person

By loving the Lord, we are valuing Him. By loving our neighbor we are valuing them, but the key here is to love or value our neighbor as ourselves. So do we value our self?

To truly understand the value God has on us, we must understand Grace!

People know of grace and they even may know where it comes from, but they may never experience it.

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Jesus was made sin with our sin, so that we might be made the righteous with His righteousness.

2 Corinthians 8:7, 9 “Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Rich=is without sin.
Rich = Being Righteous!

Poor= is with sin
Poor = Being sin!

Jesus was made poor (made sin), so we could be made rich (made righteous)!
He was made sin with our sin so we could be made righteous with His righteousness.

This act of Jesus being made sin with our sin, so He could make us righteous with His righteousness is His Grace!

Grace involves giving! Jesus gave His righteousness in exchange for our sin!

Romans 3:23-24 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”

We are justified freely by His Grace.

To be justified means to be made right!
We are made right freely. No work involved. We did not earn it.

Grace saved us, not our prayer, or our behavior!

Giving is also involved in His Grace
The act of giving is to be incorporated into His Grace

We are saved by Grace, and our salvation has nothing to do with our behavior!
But His Grace has everything to do with how much God values us!

His Grace is a free gift that came through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
We only receive this Grace through faith, not by works!

Romans 5:2
"By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

To be justified means to be made right.

We have access into His Grace, this free gift from God, BY FAITH, through our believing in the Grace of Jesus Christ!

You will never know the freedom and power of this Grace until you believe.
Faith is the avenue that we receive, walk in and experience His Grace.

When you believe in His Grace, and when then can begin understanding how valuable we are in our Fathers eyes!
Then we can begin understanding how valuable our neighbor is to God as well.

We need to see our neighbor as saved, by Grace, even if they have not yet believed!

A total paradigm shift needs to take place so we can perceive (see) what we need to see.
We need to change our perception our filter and begin loving or valuing God, and loving or valuing others! We do this by His Grace, through faith in His Grace!

There Is an Identity Crisis in the Body of Christ. We don’t know who we are.

Who are you?
I Thessalonians 5:23
Spirit, Soul, Body= A three part being
Spirit = different from the soul
Soul= different from the body
Body = different from the spirit

When you do things or feel things, you need to know who you are to decipher whether or not it’s really you.

Hebrews 4:12
Only the Word of God gives the understanding of the difference between the three.
Spirit - Soul - Body - Heart

“When we find out who HE (Jesus) is, We find out who we are."

Genesis 1:11,21,24,25,26,27
Law of Genesis =everything will only produce after its own kind
Ex: an apple will always produce another apple, an apple will never produce a monkey

How did God create you?
After HIS own kind!

John 4:24 “God is a Spirit….”
God is a Spirit, therefore you are a spirit.

Genesis 1:27
Male & Female created He them
Subdue & have dominion
We are eternal beings
We are born spiritually alive

Sin produces death. What is spiritual death? Spiritual Death is separation from God
We were separated from God but we are still eternal
Ex: When we die physically in our sins, we will spend eternity alive but separated from God, in hell.

God created you in His image (Spiritually)
The real you is a Spirit

Hebrew & Greek definition:
Soul: Mind, Will, Thoughts & Emotions
I am a Spirit I have a Soul and I live in a Body

Genesis 2:7
Formed=mold
Breath of life into the formed body
From Himself, He spoke Adam into existence, and placed him in a body.

v22 where did Eve come from?
He took her out of Adam.
-Adam called her Eve
-Eve had her own body
God created a family to have a relationship with Him. He created us to have a relationship with Him and to fellowship with one another in unity.

We were created to receive God, and give God to others
We were created to receive His love, and give His love to others.
We were created to receive His Spirit, and give His Spirit to others
We were created to receive His Word, and give His Word to others.

Unless we identify with who WE are, We will be deceived

We must be filled with Gods Word in our soul
The container that holds your Spirit is your soul
Eve was deceived

Adam was in the Transgression
This is when the Glory left

The battle is in our Soul
The first area of attack was Eves identity. Her identity was questioned (eat and be like God0
She was already like God
Adam did know and believed Gods Word, but choose to believe his wife’s word and acted upon it, over Gods word.

Romans 14:23 “…for whatever is not of faith is sin.”
Believing something other than Gods Word is Sin
Whatever is not Faith is Sin
Faith =Believing Gods Word

Ex: Nahman =became a believer
Did not believe in, or want to worship other gods
His master did. He had to go to ceremonies
To which he would have to literally do the act of bowing down, and worshiping his masters (man created) god.
As long as he did not believe that god or worship that god
from his heart, he was not committing sin.

John 3:3
Except a man be born again
Nicodemus identified with his body
Most people identify with their flesh as who they are

V5 I must be born of the spirit
V6 That which is born of Flesh is Flesh
That which is born of the Spirit is Spirit

If you have been born again, you have been born of the Spirit(God) therefore You, the real you, is a spirit just like your Father!

Psalm 82:1-8
V6 Ye are, children of the most high God.

I am a spirit, I have a soul, and I live in a body while on this earth.

A quick lesson on Grace

II Corinthians 5:21, 6:1,8:1,7,9
Grace is Jesus becoming sin with our sin, freeing us,and then making us righteous with His righteousness.

Ephesians 2:6,8
“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) … For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

It=Grace
By grace I’m saved and I receive that gift through faith

When were you saved?
You & I were saved when Jesus died, and then was raised up from the dead!

Eph 2: 9 “Not of works lest any man should boast.”
We were saved when He died for us, not when we prayed.

If we were saved when we prayed then our salvation would be based on our work of praying, and not based on the work of Jesus dying on the cross.

-Performance based Christianity passed down
-In the past some believe it not be Gods will that you be saved
-So they would try buying their loved one out of purgatory

Works mentality has crept into every doctrine
V8 grace saves me = through the avenue of faith is how I receive it
We simply believe =no works

Our Goal:
“To get from a Works Mentality and get over into Grace Mentality”
You have to receive the Grace through faith.
Its not about your sin
You are already saved by Grace
-But do you know you’ve been saved by Grace?

Isaiah 61:1 Jesus is opens of the prison to them that are bound.
Jesus opens the prison doors in our hearts through faith in Him!

There Is an Identity Crisis: in the World
Ex: Israelites from Egypt they witnessed miracles

They were only suppose to be there 11days but they were there for 40 years
They had a slave mentality that kept them bound.

Most people/Christians are the same way today.

It’s amazing the next generations of Israelites found their way out of that Slave mentaltity, a works mentality and choose to believe Gods grace, His promise, His salvation!

We need to simply begin believing Gods Grace, and we will begin experiencing our promised land of Gods Blessings.

When I was a young child I attended an Untied Methodist Church. A guest speaker came one Sunday and my mother recalls him saying that the rise of mental illness and emotionally unhealthy individuals is on the rise. The reason is we as a generation are moving away from the authority of Gods Word. Gods Word is not our focus nor does it have our attention.

Today:
82% of Americans are emotionally unhealthy.
24% have moderate to major mental health problems.
58% have mild to moderate mental health problems.
(Jack Frost Healing the Wounded Heart)

Charles Solomon, Christian Author who deals with rejection says 98% of Christians have their identity in the roots of rejection and woundedness.

As I have ministered to people through the years, I have experienced the effects of woundedness as a result of perceived and or literal rejection they have experienced.

Most either don’t realize that they have their identity rooted in their woundedness, or are in flat denial.

I here this often: “I’m good.” Some even think it’s a confession of faith. The problem is, its not faith. It’s a wrong defense they have, and a closed heart. They still feel the pain in some instances in their heart. They’ll even deflect and project their subconscious thoughts and beliefs on to others because of their own pain, and make a statement somewhat like this: It’s this other person who has the problem.”

If this belief I’m good, nothing is wrong with me,” were true, you would have a manifestation of God in your life, and if there was nothing completely wrong with you, you would no longer be here, you would have been glorified by now.

Enoch was glorified.
If your still here you got things in your heart.

When a wound takes place in our heart & the Word of God is not present to heal it, we instinctively begin to protect the wound with other thoughts and beliefs. Thus leaving the would unhealed.

Many times we are trying to find comfort and healing in all the wrong ways. = Addictions etc.

There are things in me that God never put there.

If I have the fruit = I have got the root

Eph 3: 14-21
Pray over family

We were created to receive Gods love and to give that love away to others.

Christ means The Anointed One & His Anointing

Rooted = root comes from a seed

The Sower sows the Word

The word of God is like a seed and must be sown in your heart.

So that love can be your fruit

Now you’ll begin to know Christ and experience HIM

Are we experiencing love, health, prosperity?

Get in the word

V17 Heart is defined as the center part of your mind thought s & feelings.

Faith must be formed here.
Faith is simply what you believe.
How does faith come?

Rom 10:17 by hearing the Word of God continually.
Two ways God speaks: 1.Through a human, His messengers. 2 Through the Voice of the Holy Spirit

Prov 4:20-24 We are to attend to Gods Word. His Word must have our full attention.
When that happens, then we can incline our ears to what He is saying

Incline means to open or extend open like a chair

When I give Gods Word my attention it will open my heart to hear what God is saying personally to me.

When we here what God is saying to our hearts, then we will form faith, and receive healing, and life to all our flesh.

John 14: 21 Get His Word in your heart have faith in that Word and keep it there.

1 John 4:8 God is love!

1 Corinthian 13 replace the word “love” with God and then read. This is who God is! This is how he communicates with you.

The Father does not condemn us. He only convicts and He edifies

John 13:35 love one another just as He loves, and keep this in our hearts!

Mediate on this Word. Allow it to get seeded in your heart. This Word will bring healing to your heart and family

The first natural introduction to God the Father is through the relationship you have had with your earthly Mother and Father

This is the reason most of the wounds and issues you have come from childhood.

When we offend, we wound. When a wound takes place in our hearts, our hearts close.

We must open up our hearts again.

Forgiveness and asking forgiveness begins the process of opening up our heart.

Unforgivness is a web of wrong thoughts and bleifs

Forgiveness is a process of eliminating and releasing wrong thoughts. It begins opening our hearts to Gods love.

Unconditional forgiveness and love does not mean unconditional trust.

Gentile: heathen, unbeliever
Don’t walk your life like an unbeliever.

Vanity: worthless (valueless, Useless) thoughts, pride Emptiness, vain
What causes emptiness?
What causes a wound?

Soul= mind, will, emotions

Our understanding is flawed. What do you do to fill the emptiness?
What thoughts and reasoning’s, or Images, are you filling your soul with?

Ephesians 3:14-20
Filled with the fullness of God, filled and flooded with God himself. His Divine presence.
Christ our hope of Glory Christ dwells in our hearts by faith.

Hearts: Thoughts Feelings Mind the middle. The center part of your soul. The heart

Faith: What you believe!

Faith makes it possible for Christ to dwell in your heart, the center of your mind thoughts feelings.

This makes you able to be rooted and ground in love!

Being rooted and grounded in LOVE

LOVE is what we are to fill our heart up with! What is love?

1 John 4:8, 16 God is love!
Start seeing God as Love.

I Corinthians 13

We must receive and believe Gods Word to receive and believe His Love, and be filled with His Love.

Being filled with His love is being filled with God Himself!

We should not walk the way Gentiles walk in the vanity of their minds.

Gentiles means unbeliever

To walk means your way of living or / your behavior

Vanity : worthless thoughts, pride
Emptiness, vain
Vain here in the scripture means futility or emptiness to be empty – void of something.

Our minds were created to be full of something!

Genesis 1:26-27
Man is Made in Gods image and in Gods likeness. Gods mind is full. It is full of His thoughts, His Words, His image.

Genesis 5:1,3
Adam made in the image and likeness of God, Seth made in the image and likeness of Adam

God>Adam>Seth > You

Seth made in the image and likeness of God, and so are you and I!

You and I were never created to live outside of the Garden

You and I were never created to be void of Gods Word or God Himself!

Man was created to full of Gods Glory, Gods thoughts, Gods Word, Gods Spirit!

Our minds were created to be filled with God

With out Gods word = a hole emptiness.

What causes emptiness? Empiness is like an open wound in our soul!

Soul= mind, will, emotions

Our understanding is flawed. What do you do to fill the emptiness?

Example: A woman with breast cancer; a wound was created by the cancer cells, and a cancerous tumor filled the wound. The tumor was killing the women. She prayed for healing. The Lord appeared and said By My Stripes You Are Healed.
When the cancerous tumor fell off there was a small hole and thin layer of new skin began filling in the wound.

Unbeliever is someone who has an empty hole in their soul.

Genesis 5:18-24 Enoch walked with God, and then he could not be found, because God took him. Enoch experienced a level of Glorification. Enoch believed!

What happens to an unbeliever? They are separated from the life of God.

We need to be reconciled to God

Ephesians 4:17-20
Mind is empty=Wound=Wrong Believing=Alienated = Blinded

When we are blinded the thief can come and steal, kill, and destroy us.

John 8:31,32
Jesus said it is when you continue in MY Word that you are My disciple
Disciple: follower, learner, to be disciplined like unto another.
Discipline= to be like

By continuing in His Word, we will be like Jesus.

When we fill our minds with His Word, His thoughts, we will begin to be like Him

When we fill our minds with His Word, then we will have Knowledge of the Truth. And the Truth makes us free!

Knowledge of him= Freedom from pain.
Knowledge of Truth Filled MINDS reconciled to the LIFE OF GOD!

Biggest problem in the world today: Identity crisis not knowing who we are!
Who are you really?

"Learning To Stand Fast"

“Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

There is a freedom that only Christ Jesus gives. That freedom is only received by faith. This freedom though, is still under attack by the enemy.

In order for you and me to live and walk in that freedom, we are going to have to learn how to STAND FAST!

For example it always amazes me that some people believe that the United States of America, as a nation, started out in rebellion against Britain.

There are those that actually believe that America’s founding fathers were law breakers, and rebels.

If that were the case we must realize that the government of America could not have lasted the as long as it has. The seed or foundation of rebellion would not have produced a nation that has experienced the blessings of God, and prospered, as much as America has, had it started out in sin.

The truth is America didn’t start out with this attitude; nor did we have a rebellious revolt against England. No, the truth is the colonies at that time were already free. They had contracts and agreements with King George that said they were free to govern themselves, which meant that they were free from the taxation without representation of British Parliament and the dictatorship of King George.

In the Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers listed the violations that Great Britain and King George were committing, and declared: “That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and to institute new government...”

And that’s where the debate began. There were some that said, 'Let them tax us. If Britain taxes us, even if it is without representation, then we can demand certain protections, provisions, and securities from them."

They were willing to put up with the abuses that were already being committed for that false sense of security.

Then there were the people that said that they came over here to be free from that. They believed that all men were created equal by God, with certain God given rights. And since they were already free; they didn’t want the influence of a tyrannical form of Government controlling their lives.

At this time there were well educated preachers that ministered from Gods Word, the true reality of our freedom. Preachers like John Witherspoon, and Jacob Duche.

Rev. Duche ministered a sermon entitled “The Duty of Standing Fast in our Spiritual and Temporal Liberties.” He based His Sermon on Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.”

These sermons and many like them at the time impacted and formed the belief systems and thoughts of the day. Sermons like those preached by Rev. Peter Powers titled “Jesus Christ the King”, even gave rise to a sentiment that has been described as the motto of the American Revolution. “No king, but King Jesus”.

The spiritual emphasis manifested so often by the Americans during the Revolution caused a Crown-appointed British governor to write to Great Britain complaining that “If you ask an American who is his master, he’ll tell you he has none. And he has no governor but Jesus Christ!”

Yes, America was already free. So, what did they do? They united; they got into agreement. In fact before the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed, they made sure that they had a unanimous decision.

Once the vote was in, they made their declaration; Congress took the signed document and read it aloud from the steps of Independence Hall, after which the Liberty Bell was rung. The inscription around the top of that bell, Leviticus 25:10 declared “Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof.”

This was the belief that formed the contract signed by an extraordinary group of 56 men of faith.

They closed the final paragraph of the Declaration by stating: “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”

That was the faith seed that planted the United States of America. And that’s the seed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ you have been made free from sin.

Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”, & John 8:36 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

You are already free, and until you believe that, you’ll never receive your freedom.

Now, here’s what happened in America; they chose to believe it. Our founding fathers chose to believe that fundamental principle, that all men were created free, and had a right to be free. So, they made their declaration. Immediately the devil attacked that belief system and there was a revolutionary war as a result of it.

When you begin to hear the truth from Gods Word, such as, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2) "By His stripes ye were healed"; (1st Peter 2:24), & “My God shall supply all of your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:18), and start believing these truths, then you have the opportunity to begin making your declarations; I’m healed devil, & I am rich. I am no longer a sinner. I am forgiven, I am free.

At this point I encourage you to unite with other born again believers, who will agree with you, and stand with you. Because as soon as you begin making your declarations of faith, get ready for the war.

I am telling you something, the devil is going to send all of hell after you. This is where you and I have to learn how to STAND FAST in the Liberty wherewith Christ has made us free!
He will try to get you to doubt those declarations. To believe that maybe you’re not healed. Maybe you’re not forgiven. Maybe your needs won’t be met this time.

Then the devil will begin to point out other options and answers for you. He’ll even begin suggesting that you could look somewhere else for your answers. Such as, a little alcohol won’t hurt you, or maybe you need to work longer hours, etc. He’ll begin to promise you all sorts’ deceptive securities, and you know nothing with the devil is free. He’ll just go right on taxing you until you die.

Without faith in God making men free and equal, the American Revolution would have died in its cradle. Without the belief that this nation needs to take that freedom and serve each other in love; to have Jesus as our King; that revolution would have died at its conception.

Now, it is evident to me that our founding fathers knew that this belief would be attacked in future generations, so they gave us some instructions and said; “We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.” (James Madison)

They knew that we would have to learn how to stand fast in this freedom! You see we need to get into Gods Word, believe His Word and start making our declarations from His Word.

We need to find people that will unite with us and stand with us, if we are going to stand fast through the attacks of the enemy and experience the freedoms that Jesus has purchased for us, through His blood!
