YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE

In John 1:18 we read where the Son, Jesus Christ, is in the bosom of the Father, and how the Son reveals the the Father and makes Him known.  In this passage we see the relationship the Son has with the Father, and as a result we see the Son passionetely fullfilling His purpose in life.  First of all a child is to know his Father.  He is to know him intimately.  He is to be so close to his Father, that he finds safety, comfort, strength and wisdom from His Father. In Ephesians 1:17 we see the desire of our Father, which is for us to have a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the close, personal, and intimate knowledge of Him. Only through this intimate relationship with our Father will we know and fulfill our purpose in life. Through His relationship with His Father, Jesus was able to reveal and make Him known.  Our purpose in life is two fold.  First we are to know God as our Father, to know him personally through our Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, we are to reveal Him to the world  According to 2 Corinthians 5:19; we are to communicate to the world how God is not holding their sin against them anymore because of Christ Jesus, and how they can come back home.

WHO ARE YOU?

I have found through my experience as a minister a major problem in the world today. It is the question of identity. Christians and non Christians alike are experiencing an identity crises in some form or another. In Genesis 1:27 God addresses the issue of identity, by telling us that the human race is His offspring, His children, made in His likeness and in His image. 1 John 3:1-2 tells us that God has called and named us sons, or children of God, and declares that this is not something we will attain, but it is who we are now! So to answer the question of identity is to understand that we are children of God, and He is our true Father. We come from Him, and we belong to Him. When we begin to identify with Him as our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, the anxiety and question of identity is fulfilled.

"Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. "

(Psalms 119:1-2)

Wounds in our heart have the opportunity to imprison us through our own reasoning and judgments. Jesus wants to open those prison doors, by healing our hearts, and removing those walls of unbelief that imprison us through faith in His Word.

UNCONDITIONAL TOUCH

“And he (Jesus) put forth his hand and touched him…” ( Luke 5:13) By touching this man, Jesus was showing him his value. He was communicating to him that he was important to the Father, and that he mattered.  This should reassure us that the Father is not afraid to touch us with unconditional love.

HIS MISSION

Jesus said: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor, He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”  (Luke 4:18)

A FRIEND FOREVER

"A friend loveth at all times. .... there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother....(Jesus said) but I have called you friends..." (Proverbs 17:17; 18:24; John 15:15)

Even if you have been rejected by people, or become an outcast in society, Jesus remains faithful to you. Jesus is standing by you. He is always reaching out to you and loving you unconditionally. He is that friend that sicks closer than a brother.
